PURPOSE:  The Production Specialist is a full-time outside business-to-business sales professional who is responsible for growing Professional Color and Production Services and for gaining new market share in a given territory.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Equipment Reps to uncover additional Production and/or Professional Color revenue opportunities
  • Applies a consultative approach to analyzing customer requirements, activity levels and related costs
  • Maintains sustained sales activities; phone calls, marketing letters, appointments, assessments, proposals and updating database (Soaring or Compass)
  • Develops complex proposals including detailed floor plans, documented activity levels, costs analyses and proposed solutions presentations
  • Meets or exceeds revenue expectations
  • Prepares daily/weekly action plans to insure focused activity
  • Keeps abreast of changes in technology, and possesses an understanding of basic user abilities to propose solutions
  • Serves as first line of contact with customers, responsible for creating and maintaining accurate paperwork on each sale
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the MOS sales processes, values and business code of ethics


  • BS/BA degree in business or other related field
  • At least 2 to 3years of experience selling office technology and/or document solutions in a B to B environment.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written and presentation skills)
  • Proficiency using MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) and the internet for research
  • Personal drive and internal motivation toward high achievement
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and gain commitment at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability; willingness to take risks and try new approaches
  • Valid driver's license and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage
